Length: 96 pages
Ages: 6-9
Ages 6 to 9 will love to chortle (and squeal?) at this cheeky pig named Mercy Watson. The Watson family love their pet pig Mercy so much that they see no reason NOT to take her with them to the Bijou drive-in cinema. However, the aroma of the butter in the cinema’s popcorn buckets throws Mercy, and the entire outing, into delightful chaos. An action-packed story that starts off with a hefty dose of foreshadowing, leading to an amusing ride towards the inevitable conclusion. Short chapters, charming illustrations and plenty of white space on each page keep the story moving fast, a great starting place for newly independent readers.
